Scheme Project Manager - Inside IR35

Contract Term: 12 Months

Contracting Authority: Network Rail

Location: Hybrid – Remote & 3 days per week in Puddle Dock, London

As a Scheme Project Management your main responsibilities would be:

  • Being accountable for the delivery of individual Southern Capital Delivery projects in a safe & environmentally responsible manner to time, cost & quality – in accordance with the Network Rail company standards, governance processes, current legislation & procedures.
  • Working closely with the NR Project Manager to lead, direct & develop teams to help successfully deliver projects – including establishing robust baseline plans that can be maintained to completion.
  • Managing & implementing Construction Design Management requirements necessary for projects to achieve full regulator compliance, as well as safely delivering projects.
  • Supporting the Project/Programme manager in preparing & maintaining definitions of the project requirements through the project lifecycle(s) – updating business cases that clearly outline the benefits, costs & risks to the clients.
  • Managing project reviews at appropriate points throughout the project lifecycle which inform governance decisions of projects by identifying, monitoring, & providing evaluations of performance.
  • Assisting the Project Manager in arranging change control in collaboration with clients & contractors by establishing, & implementing where necessary, protocols to change the scope of projects & updating configuration documents as required, in line with Network Rail processes.


You’ll have relevant experience in:

  • Demonstrable project management experience within the rail industry – inc. budget management / project safety management & health & safety legislation knowledge.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement & communication skills.
  • Good evaluation and decision-making skills.
  • E&P knowledge & experience – desirable.
  • PTS – desirable.
