Our security officers are vital in keeping students, staff, visitors and our buildings safe. They are friendly and diligent and work hard to contribute to the success of the University.
As part of a close knit and loyal team, you will be involved in patrolling the campus, engaging one-to-one with students who need some support, responding to alarms and incidents and a whole lot more. No two days are the same and it is never boring. This role will require a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
A current full driving licence is essential as you will be driving University of Plymouth vehicles. This role is also subject to completion of a medical assessment with our Occupational Health team.
The positions will involve working shifts on an annualised hours basis, covering 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There will also be a requirement to provide cover for unplanned absence or that of meeting the business need. A 14% shift allowance is paid on contracted hours based on a average of 37 hours per week.
Flexible working options including job share will be considered.

A successful external candidate for this position would be employed by the University of Plymouth Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Plymouth.
