RSK Acoustics is looking for an experienced Senior Acoustic Consultant to join their growing team working from the either the Edinburgh or Glasgow offices. This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis with flexible and hybrid working patterns considered.

RSK Acoustics provide acoustic consultancy over a very wide range of projects. The majority of our work revolves around the built environment, but is not always connected to the construction industry. However, our work typically falls into at least one of the three primary service areas: environment, building & specialist.

The team has a strong pipeline of work across a number of renewable energy schemes, traditional power generation (oil and gas), energy transmission and transportation schemes across Scotland.

The candidate would also support the wider acoustics team with other projects throughout the UK, continental Europe, East Africa, Middle East and Asia.

Responsibilities:

  • Dealing with client and internal enquiries with a courteous & prompt service
  • Undertake Site Inspections and Project Reviews for other members of the team
  • Producing tenders, proposals and bids for medium to large works (this to include liaising with RSK support services to perform credit checks, contractual reviews etc and helping junior members of staff to do the same.
  • Produce technical report and support junior members of staff to do the same.
  • Organise onsite works – equipment hire, travel, hotels, site access etc
  • Manage junior consultants in the downloading of noise and vibration meter data and the undertaking of analysis for projects

Qualifications

  • Desired IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control or degree with equivalent level of acoustic content.
  • Experience of peer review of technical documentation (models, reports and tenders)
  • Experience of mentoring more junior members of staff in both consulting and technical fields
  • Corporate membership of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA) and working towards Chartered status
  • A good understanding of project finances and project financial control
  • Experienced with a recognised Noise Modelling Package (i.e., SoundPlan, CadnaA, IMMI, CATT, Odeon or equivalent); and be able to quickly adapt to using other bespoke software packages
  • Full UK or International Driving license is essential for this role.
