An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent, full time Site Operations Team Support Officer.
We are looking for a dynamic, hardworking and enthusiastic individual to work alongside our Duty Matron team to support patient flow and bed capacity across our organisation.
You will need to solve problems and issues sensitively, develop enhanced skills and support others to achieve this. Showing initiative and an ability to problem solve are integral to this role. The post holder must exercise initiative to organize their own workload within the constraints of defined deadlines. You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality, as well as being motivated and reliable.
The successful candidate will have experience in the use of computer systems such as Microsoft office, word and excel. Experience of hospital systems such Nervecentre, medway etc. would be desirable.
The role is full time working the following shifts:
Long day shifts – 06.45 to 19.00, 7 days a week.
Twilight shifts – 18.45 to midnight, Monday to Friday
You would normally work 1 block of 5 twilight shifts per roster and would be expected to work at least 1 weekend out of every 4

Your duties will include:
To support the Duty Matron in resolving issues escalated to the Site Team regarding patient flow.
To co-ordinate and allocate transport provision to support discharges and specialty transfers.
To be responsible for the efficient collection and data entry.
To be responsible for the provision of timely and accurate information to other staff.
To ensure the production of reports and analysis when required.
To provide general administrative duties to the Site Operations Team, Lead Nurse for Capacity and Flow and Head of Site Operations.
To take and relay messages clearly and accurately.
To liaise regularly with other departments across the Trust and externally.
Working for our organisation
The Site Operations Team supports patient flow and capacity across both City campus and QMC. Working closely with teams across the organisation to ensure our emergency and elective patients receive timely care.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The role will provide administrative support to the Site Operations team. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of accurate, timely, and reliable data on behalf of Duty Matrons, Lead Nurse for Capacity and Flow and Head of Site Operations. The role is responsible for providing support to the Duty Matrons ensuring any delays escalated to the Site Team are resolved quickly and in a timely way. As a member of the site management team, the post holder will play an essential role in capturing data throughout the day to inform bronze meetings and escalation status.
The Support Officer will also follow up interventions such as transport, cleaning services, estates issues etc. to ensure any interruptions which could affect patient flow are resolved as quickly as possible. The post holder will require good telephone and IT skills and the ability to pull data from a variety of sources and assimilate this quickly. The post is based at Queen’s Medical Centre Campus but will be expected to work across site if required.
