Social Media Producer

The Digital team at our international news client is responsible for output across the website, social media and other third-party platforms such as OTT, podcasts, news aggregators and other partners. As well as creating original content, the digital team work closely with the Global Business and relevant teams to adapt and optimise their output for digital platforms.

This is initially a one year fixed term contract with benefits

Job objectives:

• Create and publish content across social platforms
• Adapt material from correspondents for social media output
• Coordinate with correspondents and producers to ensure their output meets social media requirements
• Monitor performance of content on social using analytics and feed back

Person specification:

With experience managing channels for a major news or similar brand, the candidate will demonstrate a complete understanding of how news works on social media and a high level of familiarity working in different media formats eg text, video.

A strong presence on different channels is a plus and video and photo editing skills are important

Essential:

• Be familiar with common editing platforms, notably Adobe Premiere
• Understand different storytelling formats
• Have a track record of working to deadline
• Be a strong team player and excellent communicator
• Be able to work fast and error free
• Excellent written work
• Understanding of analytics
• Experience managing news channels or similar
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of how news works on social media and a high level of familiarity working in different media formats eg text, video.
