What we’re looking for

As someone who’s opted for a placement within their degree course, you will be looking to start your career as a Software Test Engineer within technical web or game development. Your degree must contain a high level of technical content preferably within engineering or computer science. This role is paid, available for one year, and offers a fantastic opportunity to work on technology for 3D CAD software projects in an exciting and varied enterprise environment for industry leading customers.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Software Development Manager you will be working in a small, Agile, development team focussing on providing support technologies for a range of web-based CAD applications. The team utilise a variety of web-based technologies and work closely with a team of designers.

It is expected that the candidate will acquire a broad understanding of our products, their domains, and their application; have the confidence to express ideas as part of a creative software team; have a genuine interest in technological trends; have the ability to meet deadlines; to think creatively about solutions to complex technical problems; and be constantly striving to enhance the team’s results and the quality of the software.

You’ll be involved in testing and assuring the quality of the team’s software using manual and automatic testing systems. You’ll support customers and manage their expectations, as well as provide feedback to the team and promote software quality. This is a technical role and may involve scripting and programming as well as debugging.
