The Technical Business Analyst for Data Platform is responsible for clearly capturing and communicating the success criteria and functional / non-functional requirements for the Data Platform Programme. The role works in close partnership with Product Management and Development roles to ensure all team members working in the programme share a vibrant understanding of what is required and why.
Key responsibilities:
  • Elicit, document, and communicate of the Business Requirements for the Data Platform.
  • Work with the Product Managers from across the programme to develop the customer and internal user journeys for the Data Platform into a detailed map of platform use cases, defining the functional taxonomy, workflows, object definitions and states, volumetric and non-functional requirements.
  • Work in partnership with programme collaborators to ensure a clear definition of business success criteria for the relevant delivery cluster(s).
  • Build and maintain a traceability model to measure requirements completeness to align with regulatory oversight.
  • Collaborate throughout the delivery lifecycle to enable the right design decisions, and support development and testing activities.
  • Act as a proxy-product owner where vital to enable flawless delivery
  • Build understanding and trust with product management and delivery Squads.
Candidate requirements:
  • Industry experience developing business requirements for major transformation in financial services.
  • Standard Business Analysis methods and tooling: Use case mapping, requirements gathering, data modelling, user story mapping.
  • Ability to thrive in a technically sophisticated and constantly evolving environment, and to respond calmly and rationally to changing aspirations in a deadline driven situation.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills including the ability to organise effective, collaborative workshops, focused on outcomes and clear decision making
  • Superb communication skills with capacity to present, discuss and explain issues coherently and logically in both writing and verbally.
  • Excellent teammate dedicated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Clear decision-making ability with the facility to judge sophisticated situations and assess when to call out issues.
Desired Skills:
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Determination and focus to on key business outcomes
  • Experience and comfortable in an agile DevOps environment.
  • Technical business analysis experience in Financial Services industry
  • Large consulting firm experience preferable
  • Familiarity with Microsoft cloud products and services preferable
