They are on the hunt for a skilled Trade ark Paralegal who will have a superb opportunity to be part of the continued success of the organisation.

The Role

Working within a small team of paralegals reporting to the Head of IP Support and the Senior Trade Mark Paralegal. Core responsibility of the Paralegal is to assist and support Fee Earners in managing client portfolios. Taking on a wide variety of tasks which do not need to be performed by a qualified Trade Mark Attorney.


  • Preparation of Trade applications (occasionally assisting with drafting specifications)
  • Preparing Trade Mark forms (TM3, TM31R, TM33)
  • Dealing with signature, notarisation and legislation of documents
  • Trade Mark searching
  • Review watch notices and reporting conflicting marks to clients
  • Opening and maintaining records on our case management system
  • Standard prosecution reporting – filing receipts, EUTM search reports, acceptance, publication and registration certificates
  • Reviewing examination reports and drafting advice to clients
  • Drafting correspondence to clients – such as advising them on the differences of filing a national versus a US Madrid
  • Covering fee earners inboxes in their absence
  • Working closely with the Trade Marks secretaries – this will involve requesting standard letters to be processed, invoice requests, faxing, scanning, booking couriers and delegating administrative tasks as they arise
  • Checking and sending out standard letters
  • Producing reports for clients – these will involve providing a summary of their portfolio
  • Reviewing system reminders, sending out reminders where appropriate – convention filing emails
  • Monitoring deadlines and reminding fee earners accordingly
  • Collating evidence for exhibits
  • Collating evidence for statements of use and assisting clients with same
  • Providing training and advice to clients on Trade Mark process
  • Requesting invoices
  • Liaising within support teams internally



About You

This role involves direct contact with clients – building good working relationships is actively encouraged. Having the ability to work proactively and on your own initiative is essential, as is sound working knowledge of Trade Marks.


  • Educated to degree standard
  • CITMA qualification is highly desirable
  • Demonstrable proven track record in a Trade Mark Paralegal role
  • Ability to produce high quality, accurate work
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • You will be able to prioritise your workload, working to tight deadlines at times
  • Ability to be proactive and work with minimum supervision
  • Flexible approach to working to suit the business needs.
