About the role
The effective management of Leonard Cheshire’s VAT accounting and its compliance with associated statutory requirements by leading on the maintenance, development and delivery of financial controls, statements and processes. Producing the key VAT statutory returns and leading and supporting the year end and internal audits.
As VAT Accountant you will be responsible for the preparation, validation, review, and submission of VAT is on time, whilst ensuring compliance of current UK Vat returns and development of future returns in line with MTD guidelines.
About you
You will have experience in a similar role working in a high-volume finance shared services environment, have considerable experience of preparing accounts in a large multi-site operation and substantial experience of operating an integrated accounts system.
Able to deal with complex vat returns, partial VAT and special methods and preparing accounts in a large multi-site operation. A Knowledge of standard Microsoft Office packages as well as familiarity with specialist financial software.
You will be customer focussed with meticulous attention to detail, have strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. A continuous improvement mindset, able to challenge the status quo and implement new systems and processes.
