UI Designer

We are looking for an engaged UI designer to join us. In this role, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of designers, planners and researchers committed to designing products and services for our customers.

This role requires a deep understanding of UI design for digital products and services. A balanced understanding of interaction, motion, colour, iconography, typography and visual design is a must.
Responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, product designers, technologists and business experts to create new products and services.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to ensure the delivery of visual designs are implemented effectively through product design to engineering build to deployment.
  • Create and deliver high-quality visual design outcomes like mood boards, concepts, UI layouts, components and style guides.
  • Partner with leads and stakeholders to identify visual design directions.
  • Understand wider design application including brand, experience and implementation.
  • Base decisions on solid visual design principles and customer data.
  • Having a deep understanding of the business drivers behind the product goals.
  • Proactively contribute to Design Systems.
  • Work closely with leads to ensure deliverables are consistent with the brand and Design Systems
  • Champion accessibility and usability through visual, interface and interaction design.
  • Provide accurate estimation of tasks and help with prioritization.
  • Deliver visual design outcomes to stakeholders in a timely manner and efficient execution.
  • Work closely with other disciplines to understand and provide feedback to design context.
  • Present visual design and communicate work to team members and stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Hands on experience in roles such as Senior UI Designer is required, experience at client side is beneficial.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a deep understanding of visual design fundamentals (colour, iconography, typography, structure and visual hierarchy) and solid application of user interface (usability, comprehension, and accessibility).
  • Experience and examples of interaction design (aesthetics, animations, and transitions).
  • Experienced in creating UI design using input from user research, business requirements, technology and brand.
  • Experience of designing and/or implementing solutions for products/ services as well as production knowledge of the delivery process.
  • Experience in creating visual design language and UI for Design Systems, component libraries, styleguides, and documentation.
  • Effective communication of design solutions across roles & levels.
  • Awareness and practical understanding of current technologies, and their application and relevance to digital experiences.
  • Expert knowledge of modern design tools (we use Figma), prototyping software and Design Systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to actively listen, hear and understand what is said and not said, with nuanced comprehension of meaning and intent.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross-functional environment.
  • Comfortable developing and sustaining effective and cooperative working relationships with peers, managers and other internal or external stakeholders.
  • A passion for helping create an environment where people can do their best work.
  • Flexibility/adaptability (ability to change direction based upon team and stakeholder consensus).
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in the Atlassian suite of software (Jira & Confluence) is desirable.
