ROLE OVERVIEW

The movement of our high-value vehicles is critical to the every day operation of our business. We require a reliable and professional driver to cover a variety of jobs, including collection & delivery of client vehicles, as well as transportation of stock cars to assist with marketing events and photoshoots.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • 1-3 years' driving experience (experience in automotive sector is desirable, but not essential).
  • Experience in customer vehicle delivery is desirable.
  • Experience driving Company Directors, Executives and Senior Management is desirable.
  • A good working knowledge of the UK road network.
  • Experience of driving in Europe is desirable.
  • Must be able to safely lift a minimum of 30kg.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must have an eye for detail.
  • Must be presentable & professional.
  • Must have a flexible approach to working hours.
  • A full, clean UK driving license.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the transportation of customer vehicles between Company Showrooms and customer’s delivery destination.
  • Follow procedures for safe driving in line with the Highway Code and the Company handbook for ‘Use and Driving of Vehicles While at Work’.
  • Maintain an awareness of Company insurance stipulations with regards to use of Company vehicles.
  • Occasionally chauffeur of Company Chairman and Senior Management.
  • Competent use of vehicle satellite navigation systems.
  • Plan efficient routes to destinations prior to departure, accounting for transportation times, road closures, traffic etc.
  • Plan alternative routes to destinations in the event that you face an obstruction.
  • Complete journeys within given time constraints.
  • Appraisal and re-appraisal of service loan and customer vehicles upon collection and delivery.
  • Where vehicles require cleaning, inform customers that defects may be identified following valeting.
  • Liaise with the Head of Customer Service regarding insurance regulations.
  • Represent the brand when collecting and / or delivering vehicles to customers and suppliers.
  • Exercise clear and concise communication skills and answer any questions that customers or suppliers may have with regards to transportation.
  • Maintain a professional and presentable appearance at all times.
  • Perform daily ‘before use’ checks on Company vehicles prior to departing including checking fuel, oil and water levels, vehicle brakes, vehicle lights, indicators, tyre pressure etc.
  • Inform the Sales Team where vehicles are not fit for departure.
  • Liaise with Workshop and / or after-sales and service staff in order to action any necessary repairs.
  • Arrange alternative transportation where possible.

Any other duties as and when required by the Company, Senior Management Team and Transport Manager, including but not limited to:

  • Assist with general maintenance of London Showroom during quiet periods.
  • Valeting of vehicles.

Job Type: Full-time

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
