Job Description :

ABOUT ZENOBE

Our goal is to make clean power accessible, to accelerate the shift to zero carbon power and transport.

We’re transforming grids to enable the take up of more renewables, electrifying fleets for cleaner air, repurposing electric vehicle batteries for clean portable power and using proprietary software and data analysis to optimise operational performance for our customers.

We have 225 MW of operational and under construction grid scale battery capacity and over 30% of the UK’s EV buses, and are expanding our operations in Australia, New Zealand, US and Europe. We’re a rapidly growing company looking for talented people to join us.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Due to our expansion rate, we are looking for a Data Product Owner to join our internal Data team, working with our Data Engineers to support the design, build and expansion of our Data Infrastructure. You will play a key part in the growth of our data processing capabilities and shaping the data culture across the business.

A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY

  • Gather requirements of existing data product that is undocumented, in order to allow iteration or improvement of that product by a data engineering or an analytics team.
  • Gather requirements of a future data product, in order to allow the product to be built by a data engineering or an analytics team.
  • Check and write, or help to write requirements for datasets in SQL.
  • Able to QA or organise QA of delivered data products.
  • Maintain an understanding of different data personas, both internal and external.
  • Support business owners in articulating the objectives of their data product, and to ensure that its correct delivery is testable, and its success or fulfilment of the objectives is measurable.
  • Enforce a process of planning, prototyping, developing, testing, and launching a data product, based on current workflows or infrastructure.
  • Track & communicate the progress of data products.
  • Help the data engineering team manage stakeholder expectations across different departments.
  • Support the data engineering team in socialising a consistent data parlance across the business.
  • Bonus but not essential; the successful candidate has a base level of knowledge on Pandas in order to cross-check any exploratory data analysis.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We realise that certain groups of people are less likely to apply for a role if they don’t meet 100% of the job requirements. To be absolutely clear: if you like the look of this job and think you could do it well, we encourage you to apply with a CV that highlights your transferable skills and experience. Above all, Zenobē is looking for collaborative, flexible, empathetic people who are interested in creating and promoting practical routes to a zero carbon world.

  • SQL to intermediate level
  • Knowledge of data warehouse modelling techniques
  • Experience of working with data engineers and analysts
  • Experience of working alongside teams managing with cloud microservices
  • Experience of working with modern data platforms which may have ETL capabilities
  • Experience of working with big data
  • Fully engrossed in the Agile framework
