Job Description :

Data Scientist, Quantitative Surveillance will be heavily involved with developing new algorithms and systems with some exciting financial datasets to uncover hidden patterns and rouge trading behaviour for an commercial surveillance platform for external clients. We are looking for someone to help us utilise techniques within machine learning to uncover these insights.
Key responsibilities:
  • Your time will roughly be split between : Research (20%), Algorithm Development (30%), Backend Engineering (30%), Front Ends (20%)
Key Behaviours:
  • The ability to Map a business requirement to known problems / come up with algorithms that are good and computationally efficient.
  • Translate technical findings to non-technical users and communicating through the use of well-designed visualizations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to execute on initiatives, manages expectations, maintains stakeholders contact to keep them informed
  • Receptive to change and new ways of thinking and is innovative
  • Willingness to work within a small team of people, is collaborative
Key Skills:
  • An degree in Computer Science (Preferably with Machine Learning), Statistics, Maths or Engineering.
  • 1/2 Years’ experience working within a data science or machine Learning
  • Knowledge of any of the following Languages (Python, Scala, R, Pyspark)
  • Appreciation of good programming practices
  • Good analytical and data visualization skills
  • Experience in Hadoop , Spark, Apache Big Data Technology Stack
  • Previous experience in Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket
Desirable:
  • Working knowledge of Spark and associated open source technologies
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning / Deep Learning / Reinforcement Learning / NLP
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies (AWS)
