Tamworth Borough Council is in the process of establishing a new in-house team to deliver disabled adaptations across Tamworth and is seeking to recruit a committed and highly motivated individual as a Caseworker Assistant to provide support to residents in need of adaptations to their home.
Initially you will assist in the setting up the new in-house service, implementing management systems, work processes and general back-office systems. Once established you will be responsible for arranging minor adaptations for residents, liaising with contractors and external support agencies to assist with the delivery of adaptations, reviewing and processing of payments, monitoring of supplier performance, production of general performance data and generally provide a wide range of support to the team and residents requiring adaptations. The role will require regular and ongoing telephone contact with residents who have complex needs.
An understanding of disabled adaptations, the associated legislation is highly desirable. We are looking for an individual with a can-do approach who will be able to work on their own initiative as well as in a team and who is able to actively develop this new in-house service. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences and work in a busy environment with conflicting demands and will have excellent IT and analytical skills.
This is a home working contract, and the majority of duties will be carried out at home, however, employees will be contractually required to attend site on two days per month for team meetings, 121 meetings, etc. Employees may also be required to attend a site for meetings, collaborative work or to undertake work related activities. Site attendance will constitute no more than 40% of working time and includes the contractual 2 days per month.
