Job Description
We are a growing construction firm based in Northampton that works with some of the biggest commercial developers in the UK. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team that is keen to learn about day to day accounting processes and is interested in building their career within an entrepreneurial business setting.
As a Finance Assistant, you will working alongside our accounting team to ensure our accounts department operates efficiently and is able to support the organisation. This role will involve a broad variety of tasks and you will have the opportunity to take on a large amount of responsibility from an early stage.
Main responsibilities:
- Recording and reconciling daily transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial records
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring that all bills are paid promptly and that all customer payments are recorded accurately
- Collaborating with other members of the finance and accounting team to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Communicating and presenting information to the rest of the team when needed
- Maintaining and updating client and supplier accounts and records
- Regularly communicating with clients and suppliers
Requirements:
- GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths or equivalent
- Experience in accounting and finance
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Qualification in accounting - AAT or equivalent are desirable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, predominantly Excel, Outlook and Word
- Excellent attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work well in a team environment and to collaborate effectively with others
