You will be partnering with business areas who could have multi-million-pound asset bases or plan & execute strategies which help our 8 million customers across our region. Therefore, the ways you work and who you speak to will always be varied.

So, whilst we appreciate you’ll love numbers as much as we do, your role will also be must more than just numbers and spreadsheets.


The fundamentals of this role will be familiar to you, such as ensuring financials are accurate for internal management reporting both regulatory and statutory as well as working with budget holders to perform financial planning and provide analysis, insight and reporting to assist decision making and drive performance but this role is so much more.


In this role you identify key risks and opportunities to performance and work with our Business Leaders and their teams to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities, as well as working with key stakeholders on budgeting and forecasting for opex, income and capex. Including providing challenge to ensure credibility and deliverability, and identification of opportunities to improve performance and drive efficiencies.


You will also get the opportunity to work with our finance Graduate’s and apprentices to run an efficient month end process, ensuring the monthly financials and balance sheet reconciliations are completed on an accurate and timely basis and all significant variances to budget are understood.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR


We’re looking for a motivated and engaging individual who will deliver a high-quality monthly reporting rhythm, maintain a robust control environment, and challenge existing practices to identify improvements in both the short and longer term.


We will ideally be looking for you to be fully qualified in or in the final stages of becoming financially fully qualified, with an ability and willingness to work through the full financial and accountancy life cycle. (Not essential though, so if you need help becoming qualified we help with that)
