Job description
Main Purpose of role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Systems Accountant to join us, based from our Head Office at Lakeside, Doncaster with agile/hybrid working. Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, the Financial Systems Accountant will be responsible for the development, maintenance, review, and optimisation of the financial models within our financial systems and processes.
Through close business partnering, analysis and consultation they will lead the development, implementation, and optimisation of financial models within those finance systems and processes to achieve the highest standards of financial control and alignment to the needs of finance operational and reporting requirements.
Working closely with FP&A, Central & Regional Finance teams, the post holder will be required to actively partake and contribute to system and process re-design to reflect developments in business activities, processes, and changes in accounting standards, including evaluating the impact of such changes.
They will act as the subject matter expert (SME) for our business planning system, Anaplan, and associated finance applications, working with IT and external providers to identify additional application functionality to ensure a high-quality user experience which is aligned to business needs.
Skills, knowledge & experience
Experience
We are looking for an experienced Finance Systems Accountant who embodies our Keepmoat values; a straightforward and skilled communicator at all levels, who is well versed in using Finance systems to present information including high quality written reports. They experienced in identifying problems and gaps and solving these in a creative manner, always looking for opportunities for improvement. They will be passionate about finance applications and have the ability to design and implement complex modelling within these applications. They will be collaborative with the ability to coordinate colleagues both internally and externally as required to achieve business outcomes.
The successful candidate will have experience working within a similar role using finance systems to gather and analyse important data, developing the right solutions and evaluating corresponding results. They will be highly numerate with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Education & qualifications
Essential
Finalist/Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Professional experience as auditor, accountant or analyst that has participation in development of financial modelling and implementing accounting standards in complex environments
