Job Description :

London

About us:

We're here to make money work for everyone and we're doing things differently. For too long, banking has been obtuse, complex and opaque.

We want to change that and build a bank with everyone, for everyone. Our amazing community suggests features, test the app and give us constant feedback so we can build something everyone loves.

We're focused on solving problems, rather than selling financial products. We want to make the world a better place and change people's lives through Monzo.

About our Finance Team:

This role would be well suited to a recently qualified accountant looking for a move into industry. Financial reporting standards (FINREP) specify a set of disclosures based on IFRS information that are sent to the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) at the Bank of England on a regular basis.

Our regulatory reporting team is growing and we're looking for a curious, adaptive and data-focused Regulatory Reporting Analyst with a strong attention to detail to join our team at Monzo. The team is responsible for understanding our prudential regulatory requirements, working on projects and submissions relating to these and collaborating with teams across the bank.

Your day-to-day

You'll be responsible for:

  • Taking ownership of Monzo's FINREP reporting and being a specialist in this area
  • Assisting the wider team in the production of Monzo's entire suite of capital and liquidity regulatory reports and disclosures (including Pillar 3)
  • Contributing to the interpretation and application of regulation, largely CRD/CRR in the UK
  • Documentation of regulatory interpretations and communication
  • Enhancement of Monzo's regulatory reporting validation and control framework
  • Providing input into new product launches
  • Providing accurate reporting to regulators and Monzo's management
  • Partnering with teams internally to help them make informed business decisions
  • Ensuring all our regulatory reporting runs like clockwork
  • Supporting our rolling metric forecasts and scenario modelling
  • Designing and implementing brilliant ways to automate our work and leveraging technology to ensure we scale with the business

You should apply if you:

  • Have a good understanding and experience of working with financial service balance sheets and income statements
  • Have a data focused mindset and a sharp eye for detail
  • Enjoy new and exciting challenges
  • Have a proven record of delivering to deadlines
  • Want to automate or enhance recurring processes, particularly by leveraging technology, but know how to balance this with getting the actual reports done!
  • Have an open mind, enjoy transparency and think outside the box
  • Thrive in a people-oriented, collaborative and progressive working environment
  • Are hands-on and take satisfaction in supporting colleagues, projects or tasks, however big or small
  • What we're doing at Monzo excites you!

The Interview Process:

Our interview process involves 3 main stages:

  • 30 mins phone call with a recruiter
  • An initial call with someone from the team
  • 2-3 interviews remotely via hangouts

Our average process takes around 2-3 weeks but we will always work around your availability. You will have the chance to speak to our recruitment team at various points during your process but if you do have any specific questions ahead of this please contact us on core-hiring@monzo.com

What's in it for you:

This role can be based in our London office, but we're open to distributed working within the UK (with ad hoc meetings in London).

  • We offer flexible working hours and trust you to work enough hours to do your job well, at times that suit you and your team.

Learning budget of £1,000 a year for books, training courses and conferences

➕And much more, see our full list of benefits here

If you prefer to work part-time, we'll make this happen whenever we can - whether this is to help you meet other commitments or strike a great work-life balance.
