Lawrence's Auctioneers is expanding and with a new saleroom in Westbury (Wilts) soon to open, we require an experienced and driven individual to take on daily cataloguing and photography duties.

~The Role~

We require someone with at least two years experience in the auction industry, with a sound all-round knowledge of antiques and the sorts of everyday items one may see in a busy saleroom. These should include, but not be limited to, furniture, ceramics, pictures, silver, jewellery, clocks, rugs and general collectables.

The individual must be IT literate and confident in their ability to adapt to new computer systems. They will also be working closely with members of the public, booking items in and carrying out valuations, so being comfortable in a customer-facing role is also essential.

Some photography work will also be required, although previous photography experience is not essential.

You will be working as part of small, close-knit team so teamwork and the ability to help out wherever needed is vital.

~Summary of Responsibilities~

- Valuing and cataloguing of antiques and collectables on a daily basis
- Photographing of items for the online catalogue
- Welcoming clients and booking in/valuing their items
- Answering telephone calls and providing advice and guidance to clients over the phone and online
- Liaising with specialists and external consultants where required to provide accurate and up-to-date valuations

Salary dependent on experience.

There will be times where you may be required to travel to another branch in Crewkerne to assist with cataloguing/photography there during busy periods and to provide holiday/sickness cover.

As such, a valid UK driving license and your own means of transport are essential.
