The East Genomic Laboratory Hub (East GLH) is one of seven hubs which make up the NHS Genomic Medicine Service. Our 3 partner laboratories at Cambridge, Leicester and Nottingham deliver Genomics to 31 NHS Trusts in our region, serving a patient population of over 9 million people.
The laboratory is keen to harness the power of data monitoring, visualisation and modelling to inform upon strategy and to drive operational decision making. We are pleased to be recruiting an experienced Senior Data Analyst to oversee the delivery of a data analytics function to support our expanding service and maximise benefits to our patients. If you have significant previous experience in collating and presenting complex data to a broad audience, as well as strong communication and organisational skills, this role should be a perfect fit.
The job is based at the CUH Genomics Laboratory, Addenbrooke’s, which is the lead laboratory of the East GLH, however the successful applicant will have responsibility for and oversight of all data analytics activities across the 3 East GLH laboratories.
You will work closely with other data analysts across the region, and with the GLH informatics team, to ensure that appropriate data is captured, monitored and reported consistently.
The GLH Senior Data Analyst works closely with the Data and Informatics Director and other senior leaders at the Genomic Laboratory Hub (GLH)’s 3 trusts to create and deliver data analytics that support the operation of the laboratory across the region.
They will use their strong database and business intelligence skills to produce data sets and visualisations that allow staff from all 3 member laboratories of the GLH to get a clear and unambiguous understanding of how the laboratory is performing.
They will have overall responsibility for ensuring that reports used for commissioning and financial reimbursement of activity are produced in a timely fashion, are accurate and of high quality.
They shall represent the GLH in national meetings discussing data analytics in the genomics medicine service; and shall drive forwards continual improvement to data and information processes across the multiple trusts of the GLH and the wider GMS.
The role requires extensive knowledge and experience of relational databases and associated technologies for the extraction, management, analysis, visualisation and reporting of complex datasets, as well as an appreciation of existing NHS systems and processes. An understanding of genomic testing would be a benefit but is not a requirement.
The individual will be based at CUH but will have responsibility across the entire GLH region.
