Reporting to the Data and BI Lead, the role of the Graduate Data Analyst is to produce and analyse management information as well as provide valuable insights to aid business decisions and improve processes. This may include support on related projects aimed at improving the delivery of information to the business.
The tools available will be based on our state-of-the-art Azure data platform for the creation of dashboards and contribute to further automation and self-service for all the departments around the business.
With a passion for optimal data delivery and a keen eye for detail., you'll provide continuous improvement of the quality of output and the speed of reporting processes. You'll be able to quickly identify opportunities for improving access to information and reports.
Key responsibilities:

  • Production of regular or ad hoc management information
  • Continuous improvement of quality of output and speed of reporting processes
  • Identify opportunities for improving access to information and reports
  • Support in responding to regulatory requests
  • Provide active support to relevant business projects
  • Work closely with the IT management team, 3rd Parties and business owners to deliver efficient BI reporting utilising Power BI.
  • Automate manual processes & optimize data delivery
  • Participate in multiple projects at the same time, ranging from long-term challenging projects to addressing live issues and bottlenecks with data as they arise.
  • Ensure excellent working relationships and the department benefits from collaborative working and the sharing of knowledge.
  • Implement best practices ensuring continued availability of information and insights.

Essentials

  • A 2:1 degree in a relevant discipline e.g. computer science, engineering, economics, statistics, business or mathematics
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Familiarity with data governance and quality principles
  • Ability to translate Business Requirements into tangible reports
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team and cross functionally, sharing ideas and resources
  • Excellent Documentation skills
  • Good organisational and time-management skills

Desirables

  • Data/BI accreditations
  • Experience with Microsoft stack including Office, Excel, SQL & Power BI or other visualization tools
  • Exposure to Azure
  • Exposure to BI processes utilising ETL methods
  • Experience with a programming language like Python would be beneficial
