About the Role

Are you looking for a new opportunity in 2023? If so, we are excited to welcome several Graduate Level Data Engineers to join our fast growing and hugely successful Data Science team, made up of over 50 talented and diverse Data Engineers, Scientists, Analysts and Hunters.

As a Graduate Data Engineer, you will help build end-to-end machine learning solutions across the business that will be essential to the business' ability to serve our millions of daily customers in a competitive manner.

The team operates as a consultancy within the business, working closely with different business areas to identify opportunities and develop solutions, driving the implementation of Machine Learning across the entire organisation. To achieve this there is a focus on the delivery and realisation of benefits.

You will liaise with business subject matter experts to achieve a common understanding of the business, their needs, challenges, data requirements.

You will develop next generation data platforms that will enable us to deliver market leading machine learning solutions at record speed.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to continuously challenge their technical skills and always look for the most optimal solution, no aspect is off the cards. If you have a better solution, we want to hear it!

The team is very experienced with dozens of models already in production and having huge impact across the business.

We have roles available across sites in London, Bristol & Bournemouth and you’ll be working closely with the entire team across these offices.


About You



You will be recently graduated with a numerate or technical degree and might also have some relevant post-graduate experience as well as being:

  • Self-motivated
  • Ambitious and results orientated, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Committed to continuous development
  • Versatile and copes well under pressure
  • Able to proactively build and maintain relationships both externally and with customers throughout the business
  • Enthusiastic and positive in approach, especially in the face of adversity
  • Innovative and willing to challenge the status quo
  • Able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

As a Graduate Data Engineer you should have knowledge and experience in at least one of the below technical areas;

  • Databases (SQL/NoSQL, ETL)
  • Software Development (Python, Unit Testing, Software Development Best Practice)

With experience or interest in developing further in the following areas:

  • Cloud computing platforms and concepts (ideally within Azure)
  • GDPR and other relevant legislation
  • ML model operationalisation technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Alternative data storage (NoSQL)
  • Data platforms and architecture (Data Streaming, Change Data Capture, Feature Stores)
  • Project scoping and business case definition
