Job Description :

We are currently seeking a Groundsperson on a part time basis to care for and take responsibility for the maintenance and landscaping of outdoor areas and facilities across the Hospital site. This is a varied and physical role, which gives you the opportunity to feel pride keeping a tidy and well maintained hospital grounds.

Working hours: Week one Monday - Friday 8.00-4.00 (30 min break)

Week two Monday - Thursday 8.00-4.00 (30 min break)

About the role

  • To assist in the undertaking of general tree maintenance, reporting any works which require a specialist contractor
  • Need to meet the demands of the manual work required to maintain & landscape the outdoor areas.
  • Ensure the vehicles are safety checked and maintained, adhering with legal requirements.
  • Provide a professional friendly image to all patients and visitors using the hospital.

Skills and experience required

  • Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Applicants must hold or be prepared to work towards the following
  • Tractor driving competence certificate
  • Spraying certificate – PA1 & PA6
  • Strimmer/brushwood certificate – NTPC
  • Chipper certificate
  • Previous experience working within a ground’s environment
  • Ability to work to verbal instruction and requirements, with care, accuracy and attention to detail working unsupervised
  • Competent to undertake vehicle checks and carry out basic maintenance
  • Knowledge of the care of plants, shrubs and trees
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively across teams and with a variety of people both inside and outside the organisation
