How you'll make a difference

You will make a difference as a HR Administrator by supporting the ongoing employment relationship from a new starter to leaver. Ensuring, the accurate recording and processing on the HR systems of changes that occur during an individual’s employment with the Council.
Using appropriate due diligence, you will ensure all documentation for starters, leavers and contract variations are issued in line with our processes and procedures.

What will you be doing?

  • On a daily basis will process all actions accurately and in line with our payroll deadlines relating to employee lifecycle transactions, for example Acting up’s, honorarium, grade and hour changes.
  • You will support the leaver process through our HR system Myview.
  • It will be your responsibility to input all payroll actions on to our HR/Payroll system- Resourcelink.
  • You will be issuing Contracts for all new starters using our computerized Recruitment system.
  • It will be key for you to monitor and action emails from our generic inbox.
  • With support as appropriate, you will provide guidance and resolve customer queries around our policies and procedures.
  • You will be responsible in supporting the delivery of specialist processes and procedures ensuring that all customers receive an effective, functioning service and information is provided.

What we need from you

  • You will require an NVQ 2 Level 2 qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration or Customer Services, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • You will have experience of HR and/or recruitment administration, processes and procedures gained in a complex organisation and understand the interface required between HR, customers and payroll functions.
  • We require you to have excellent customer service skills and a strong customer focus in your approach to process and issue resolution.
  • You will be proficient in the use of computerised HR databases, applicant tracking systems and other computer packages, for example Microsoft Office.
  • You must have a good attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, error free work.
