Asbestos Consultants Europe Ltd (ace) provide specialist advice and services for all asbestos-related problems to both the public and private sectors and is one of the UK's leading Health and Safety Consultancies.

We are currently recruiting for a HR and Development Coordinator. Full-time 37.5 hours per week preferred but will consider part-time 30 hours per week.

Salary up to £28,000 per year (pro rata for part-time) depending on experience.

The role will be based at our Bristol offices with an option for hybrid working pattern following successful completion of training/probation period.

The role would suit someone with solid HR Administration experience with CIPD Level 3 qualification and who is keen to progress to CIPD Level 5.

The HR and Development Coordinator will report to the Directors and be responsible for assisting and working with the department Line Managers to provide guidance, support, and advice on operational HR and training needs. The role will also incorporate some other ad-hoc administrative duties, such as Bids Administration.

The HR and Development Coordinator responsibilities are to:

  • Be the first point of contact for all HR related matters across the company
  • Be the first point of contact for training and development for the Bristol office
  • Liaise directly with the Company’s out-sourced HR Employment Law Advisers for guidance on case management
  • Proactively manage employee relations issues as early as possible using best practice.
  • Undertake all administrative processes within the new starter/leaver employee life cycle such as reporting to payroll, issuing contracts, maintaining the HR system.
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate training records on the company’s training matrix
  • Support line managers with time and attendance, and absence management.
  • Undertake HR and training related project work as directed and guided by the Directors
  • Assist in producing HR MI reports as requested by the Directors
  • Facilitate cooperation within teams, mediating where needed
  • Be responsible for own Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and keep up to date with changing employment law, best practice and knowledge of company activities
  • Assist with all stages of the recruitment process within the Company. This includes: drafting job descriptions and adverts, reviewing CVs against shortlisting criteria, assisting with the interview and selection process and speaking with candidates
  • Facilitate, develop and coordinate inductions and other in-house and external learning and development activities
  • Any other HR, Training related tasks as requested by the Directors
  • Other ad-hoc administrative duties, such as Bids Administration
