The IA Supply Chain Security Officer role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area.

Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy's new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

The role

The difference our new IA Supply Chain Security Officer will make

As an IA Supply Chain Security Officer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This role provides cyber security and information assurance across the supply chain.

Day to day, you'll implement BMS documentation (process, procedures, guidance etc.), identify, assess and where needed escalate risks as a result of supplier audit activity and manage, implement and maintain an effective rolling programme of risk based supply chain assessments.

Essential experience

Previous relevant experience in an Information assurance/security or supply chain role within the Defence, or similar regulated industry

Comprehensive understanding of DefStan 05-138 and wider defence related regulations applicable to the contracts

Good awareness/knowledge in relation to ICT systems and their operation

Experienced in information risk management processes

Use of initiative and ability to work with no supervision

Literate in IT applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)

Regulation and governance interpretation

Ideally has an understanding of trade controls issues and the impact of non-compliance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role
