The role of Innovation Project Manager is to ensure the successful delivery of Research & Technology projects to meet business objectives through clear scope development and planning, and effective working relationships.

Key Responsibilities & Duties;
  • Create project roadmaps by developing the scope, implementation plans and schedules.
  • Create review milestones to estimate efforts required to achieve objectives in line with roadmap.
  • Manage and communicate strategies, targets, and timelines to track performance and deliver key business goals against the agreed roadmaps and identified requirements.
  • Develop close working relationships with project team to define and manage project scope, objectives, and deliverables, while adhering to budget and time constraints.
  • Track, report and forecast milestones to provide regular status reports to key stakeholders through comprehensive and structured reviews at a global level, with all departments.
  • Facilitate project reviews and provide regular rolling reports on cost, scope, risk mitigation & schedule performance.
  • Identify, assess, and minimise risks throughout the project lifecycle, seeking to prevent risk arising.
  • Develop excellent relationships with partners and key stakeholders.
  • Execute lessons learned activities, contribute to best practise and inspire innovation across the business.
  • Identify business plan opportunities and document the executive decision making process.

Job requirements

Proactive team leader, able to develop methodology to deliver best practices for new working methods.
A willing decision maker with the ability to assess problems and employ multiple problem-solving techniques.
Self-reliant, hardworking, pro-active, and motivated with experience working within a matrix management structure.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing using the English language including verbal, and written presentations.
Able to establish good working relationships across departments and with customers
Be qualified and experienced in Project Management, using recognised project management methods.
Be qualified with an accredited Degree or equivalent level in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical engineering or Materials Science field.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Access).
Full UK driving license and valid passport essential as travel may be required.

Specificity of the job

Some UK and international travel is to be anticipated, visiting Group companies, technology partners, research institutes, and suppliers (approx. 10% of role).
