Summary

This is a brand-new role within our team as some of our clients are requesting more and more work within the data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence arena.

If you are an experienced Data Scientist or Data Engineer looking for a new and exciting opportunity to work on real-life challenges that affect us all. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a function within our small unit and shape its future.

The role

The role holder will work in conjunction with a team of IoT Specialists in the ‘IoT Lab’, delivering proof-of-value agile experiments as well as larger projects and maintenance of the live system on-premise and in the cloud.

Our goal is to help the business analyse data trends to make better decisions. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision-making.

Our small unit specialises in assisting our company with insights into our Data with an emphasis on prediction and prevention, and by giving the BAU and management extra insights from the data collected. We’re looking for a like-minded technical enthusiast who would like to contribute, mentor and shape this section of our unit and, more importantly, loves the challenge.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with information gathering/requirements elicitations.
  • Analysing datasets to extract insights and decide on the appropriate technique
  • Having meetings with stakeholders and providing recommendations for statistical/machine learning tools and technologies to prototype new concepts
  • The retrieval and collection of open and closed data sources, and hybrid environments, including data processing, cleansing and verification
  • Applying machine learning algorithms and libraries
  • Building algorithms based on statistical modelling procedures and building and maintaining scalable machine learning solutions in production
  • Building predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
  • Carrying out statistical analysis, including data modelling and hypothesis testing
  • Present information using data visualization techniques
  • Documentation
  • Delivering workshops
  • Stakeholder engagement, including communicating and explaining complex processes to people who are not programming experts

What do I need?

  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts and their applications
  • Knowledge of various machine learning techniques and their real-world advantages/drawbacks
  • Machine Learning experience, including designing and developing the end-to-end machine learning life cycle
  • Experience in the software development lifecycle and DevOps/ML-Ops
  • Hands-on coding experience, Python, R, Scala are preferred
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL
  • Experience using Azure cloud technologies, such as ADX, ADF, Azure ML, Databricks and Azure Data Lake Storage
  • Data Modelling experience
  • Knowledge of ML-Ops
  • Experience with visualisation, such as BI Tools
  • Experience with Operation Technology is desirable
  • An MSc in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a similar field is desirable
