About the opportunity

The Core data team at Contentful gives data-informed insights and recommendations to departmental teams across Contentful, by measuring and analyzing complex data assets.

As a Junior Data Analyst, you will partner with our business teams and provide them with data insights that will lead to data-driven decisions. You will run deep-dive analysis, design experiments, and define success metrics and the tracking needed to measure them.

What to expect?

• You will be a part of a hybrid pod team of analytics engineers and data analysts
• As a pod member, you will own the tasks in the Customer domain area of the business, working with teams across Contentful to understand their objectives and help them achieve their goals.
• You will visualize, explore and analyze business data to generate insights and inform decisions.
• You perform self-driven quantitative analysis, distill recommendations and contribute to decision-making.
• You will clearly tell the story of your insights for technical and business stakeholders.
• You contribute to supporting and improving our data models, tooling, and infrastructure.
• You actively participate in improving our agile feedback loops and helping nurture a healthy team environment.
• You evangelize the value of data and insights at Contentful.

What do you need to be successful?

• You must have at least 1 year of experience working as a dedicated data analyst. Experience with SaaS companies is an advantage.
• You can work well with stakeholders.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, collaborate, influence, and work as part of a team.
• You must have experience with SQL and a willingness to grow your experience.
• You have used modern BI tools (we're using Redash and Looker).
• If you have experience in ETL/ELT with tools such as DBT and Airflow, it is an advantage, not a requirement.
• You speak fluent English and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.
