We are looking for a Manager, Port Operations (m/f/d) to join our Logistics Sourcing team in UK.
UPM Logistics Sourcing is responsible for the global maritime and port network and related supplier management. Strategic priority is to secure customer satisfaction, leverage synergies and economies of scale in UPM Group. We have global port network which we are operating either time-chartered vessels or with other shipping partners.
In our innovative sea traffic development, we explore benefits from today’s new technology, digitalization, and automation development together with our supplier network. Operations are characterized by continuous improvements and having emphasized focus in ensuring environmental efficiency of the provided services.
Our intention is to strengthen our team to ensure each UPM business unit needs in transport chain. We are now looking for a maritime and port expert to join our Cargo Care team.
What you’ll do
Ensure UPM’s products proper handling, storage, and shipping conditions
Ensuring and developing most effective port operations for UPM by supervising UPM’s products handling and port operations
Port operator supplier management including quality performance follow-up and KPI’s reporting
Participate vessel stowage planning process and manage equipment fleet
Support UPM’s businesses globally in logistics technical issues
Transport risk management, damage prevention and transport damage claim handling
Who you are
You have a minimum of bachelor’s degree in relevant field (maritime) and at least 5-10 years of working experience in maritime and port industry
You have strong solution-oriented mindset, analytical and problem-solving skills, and independent way of working
You have a dynamic way of working and you can take ownership of your responsibility area with entrepreneurial mindset
You are good at teamwork, and you have good social and communication skills, including presentation skills
You have business-oriented mindset and understanding of logistics chain
You have flexibility with working hours and travel, position requires travel +50 days per year and a driving license
You have fluent both in written and spoken English, other language skills are an asset

Additional information
Our main ports in UK are Tilbury, Grangemouth and Greenock. Remote work is possible.
