Ocean Technolgies Group (OTG) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing professional with experience of managing, developing and executing events to the highest standard, through excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and creativity.

You will be responsible for ensuring activity is aligned with business objectives, company policies and procedures, marketing/communications strategies and our corporate narrative.

The successful applicant will join our growing marketing team contributing to our marketing strategy, delivering revenue growth across our maritime e-Learning & Assessment, Crew Management and Fleet Management product suite and building the OTG brand.

Reporting to the Marketing Operations Manager, the role will play a key role in our marketing strategy, with specific responsibility for shaping and executing our diverse programme of international physical and virtual events. Our events comprise of international exhibitions, customer seminars, social events and thought leadership webinars, that connect us to our customer and wider stakeholder community.

The role involves liaising with our international sales team, event organisers, venues and suppliers as well as customers and other attendees. Working in close collaboration with fellow members of the marketing and sales teams to maximise the revenue generating potential of our events and strengthening the return on investment, will be an important aspect of the role.

Location: UK remote (intermittent international travel may be required)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning end-to-end event activity, preparing and managing event budgets and end-to-end finance processing
  • Managing event timelines, project plans and procurement activities and supporting colleagues with theirs
  • Attendee management including invitation production, joining instructions and on-site management
  • Responsibility for ensuring health and safety risk assessment procedures are followed for all events
  • Liaising and regularly communicating with internal stakeholders to proactively ensure event objectives are met
  • Supporting colleagues with marketing campaigns and other marketing related operational tasks

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Required:

Essential experience:
  • At least 2 years' experience in a Marketing Co-ordinator role
  • At least 2 years' experience in an Events Management role, ideally within international events
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Administration IT skills, including computer literacy and familiarity with database/booking packages, CRM, project management software
  • Good understanding of social media and how to use it to promote events and generate opportunities
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and professional manner
  • Able to use initiative and remain calm under pressure
Desirable experience:
  • Maritime sector experience
  • Additional language skills
  • Commercial focus with understanding of demand/ lead generation & nurturing the marketing pipeline funnel
