Head of Marketing Planning and Strategy
This role, reporting directly to the Marketing Director, is pivotal to optimise the planning and deployment of UK marketing resources to ensure the robustly agreed UK targets are met. Through the enhanced provision of management information, the activities of the department will become increasingly effective and accountable.As the Head of Marketing Planning Strategy you will be responsible for leading all reporting and measurement of UK Marketing activity to maximise and demonstrate value added of each activity (ROI). As well as leading implementation of the global brand strategy, into the UK market.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead to translate global brand strategy into local planning and annual activities. And to educate the BMW Group UK business on the brand strategy across all areas.
  • The role is responsible for supporting the development of the UK marketing plan working closely with the Marketing leadership team. Taking direction from the global brand and marketing priorities and UK demand requirements to achieve commercial objectives, the annual plan will be collectively defined and budget allocated. Once agreed this role is responsible for tracking activity achievement versus the agreed targets and also identifying needs to adjust the plan accordingly to changes to the market.
  • Within the overall marketing plan, this role is responsible for agreeing relevant and specific targets for each activity in conjunction with the General Manager of each area and managing delivery of project KPI reporting.
  • Through the delivery of management reporting, this role is responsible for identifying variances to planned target achievement and using the existing management meeting structures to agree appropriate action planning within the respective functional areas.
  • In additional to management reporting this role is responsible for sharing relevant information to different business areas as to the plans and achievements of the department including monthly reporting, Sales and Marketing Planning updates, BDM updates, Retailer Briefings (Quarterly).
  • Analysis of all research to provide insight and intelligence to wider marketing team for annual campaign and budget planning.
Qualifications:
  • Degree level qualifications or equivalent in Business / Marketing as a minimum.
  • Proven experience in automotive or premium brand consumer Marketing, retail marketing related project management function or brand / retail orientated CRM function.
  • Strong people management skills required with ability to influence non-reporting stakeholders and partners.
  • Process orientated. Exceptional project management skills to ensure timely delivery of results and complex multiple projects.
  • Conceptual, strategic and able to think beyond scope of responsibilities / outside the box.
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills.
  • Fluent and skilled in generating, using and interpreting marketing reporting and monitoring systems.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of wider business operations including political environment.
  • Articulate, professional and a true brand champion / ambassador
