Purpose of the role

AEGIS London are currently seeking an experienced Operations Business Analyst who will be responsible for supporting the Operations Change Manager, Head of Underwriting Operations and the wider Operations team with all matters ranging from driving operational change within the team and business to supporting BAU activity. The candidate will reinforce the team’s strategy to digitise and automate where possible.

As an Analyst you will work closely with all areas of the business to support enhancement, refinement and implementation of core business processes. Large elements of your time will be spent documenting business requirements to support the continuous improvement of business processes and by process mapping ‘as-is’ / ‘to-be’ states.

Duties and accountabilities

  • Develop a good working knowledge of the business goal, priorities and processes for the relevant business areas.
  • Drive discussions with relevant teams and departments to understand current state, inputs and outputs.
  • Facilitating workshops to collect information, share data / fact driven insight and develop models.
  • Collecting, collating, manipulating and reconciling data from numerous sources to ensure its completeness and accuracy.
  • Aid in the documentation and analysis of ‘as-is’ process mapping, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Contribute to evolving and changing ways of working across the team and wider organisation to become more operationally efficient.
  • Conduct analysis work to a consistent high standard with range of business areas; produce output to agreed timescales, formats and standards.
  • Support stakeholders in the embedding and handover of projects into business as usual.
  • Create business requirements documents.
  • Design, validate and document ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ process maps.

Skills, knowledge and experience

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships and trust at all levels internally and externally.
  • Highly organised with ability to understand and adjust to moving priorities.
  • Logical and calculated approach to addressing issues.
  • Self-motivated and proactive – is able to anticipate issues and rectify these on behalf of their manager / team.
  • Ability to design and run workshops to maximise output.
  • Comfortable working in a team or individually.
  • Industry experience would be advantageous but not necessary.
  • Open-minded and a willingness to learn and help to do what’s needed for the team to achieve its goal.
  • Capable of analysing large volumes of data; conduct gap analysis, identifying attributes and anomalies.
  • Experience of business process mapping (Visio).
  • Ability to use MIRO and Notion preferable.
