London, England
Job ID : 6646715132535246513450666b564a4d49673d3d
From the City Fringe, through to the heart of the East End to the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf, Tower Hamlets is a uniquely vibrant, diverse and contrasting part of the capital – a melting pot of creativity, enterprise and cultural life that brings the best of London together in one place.
Tower Hamlets is a borough with rich diversity and cultural heritage. At the same time there are undeniable problems – linked in part to poverty and deprivation. Levels of ASB and violence are too high – with domestic abuse, drug related crime and serious youth violence a particular problem. Tackling crime and ASB is a top priority for the Council and our residents.
We will appoint an outstanding candidate as Operations Enforcement Manager, whose contribution will be key to the success of the expansion of the Safer Neighbourhood Operations Service.
The role will hold line management responsibility for on street enforcement functions carried out by Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) officers, the Tower Hamlets Enforcement (THEO) teams. The teams now have both a borough wide responsibility but are also allocated to localities, working alongside other enforcement and support service officers such as the Antisocial Behaviour Team and officers working with Hostels and those undertaking substance misuse and homelessness outreach in those localities.
We have excellent relationships between the Council and Police which is absolutely essential in ensuring that all our combined resources are used as effectively as possible. Maintaining and developing these relationships at both senior and more junior operational levels is a key accountability for the Operations Enforcement Manager.
To discuss the role further please contact the Head of Service for Safer Neighbourhood Operations, Keith Stanger at keith.stanger@towerhamlets.gov.uk
Tower Hamlets vision for our borough is that: people are aspirational, independent and have equal access to opportunities; we are a borough that our residents are proud of and love to live in; and we are a dynamic, outcomes-based council using digital innovation and partnership working to respond to the changing needs of our borough. We want people who aspire to our TOWER values: Together; Open; Willing; Excellent; Respect.
Tower Hamlets has a zero-tolerance approach to, and works to eradicate, all forms of discrimination on the basis of race, sex, disability, age, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital status, status as a civil partner, gender, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy and maternity and looks to employ a diverse workforce representative of those groups. We recognise that people can also be disadvantaged by their social and economic circumstances, so we will work to eliminate discrimination and disadvantage caused by social class.
We welcome applicants interested in flexible working arrangements and also applicants who live in the borough.
