About you

We are looking for an organised and committed Operations Manager to monitor contracts, report attendance, deal with day-to-day operations and support the development of the business area. It includes liaising with local stakeholders, parents, schools, and students. The Operations Manager will continue the excellent work done so far to help cohorts of students gain skills and be inspired into various job sectors. You will be supporting the team for delivering key KPIs and supporting a smooth provision. We are especially keen to meet individuals who have experience in customer service, operations and can multi-task.

About The Role

As our Operations Manager you will help us with key elements of delivery and coordination of our Alternative Education programme. LMP Action are working across 3 regions and 14 schools to support vulnerable young people who are either at-risk of exclusion or have been excluded from school. The programme supports young people to gain qualifications, be integrated back into school and to provide progression opportunities post-16. We seek to provide schools with meaningful solutions and support young people to develop vital employability skills and work readiness.

Tasks

  • The post holder will manage the day-to-day operations of the Alternative Education department.
  • Oversee managing attendance monitoring and liaison with schools and various centres when needed.
  • Manage and coordinate the compliance arrangements of the programme, ensuring that internal and external communication and reporting arrangements are maintained to a high standard.
  • Effective monitoring and reporting systems to ensure that a comprehensive report can be written up following the requirements of contracts.
  • Ensure the operational coordination of programmes meet their KPI’s.
  • Act as a key point of contact for the programme for both internal and external stakeholders, promoting clear and effective communication while understanding of conflicting partner and stakeholder priorities.
  • Prepare performance reports, against targets, as required.
  • Ensure that the appropriate, processes, documentation etc. are in place to drive a process of continuous quality improvement.
  • Liaise with programme coordinator to meet KPI’s and adhere to contractual requirements.
  • Manage a comprehensive portfolio of school/contract requirements.
  • Keep track of young people by using online data systems and complete the required paperwork for monitoring.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and compliance and complete all contractual paperwork and documentation as required.
  • Work with all staff in the Alternative Education department to ensure the Programme is fully prepared for audit inspections.
  • Where business needs change, to undertake other responsibilities which are of a commensurate level outside the terms of this role profile. This may include supporting other programmes especially during our busy summer period.
  • Attend all relevant professional meetings regarding our students.
  • Negotiate and secure venues for our provision.
  • Schedule and attend “intervention meetings” for our students to ensure we maintain contracts/good relationships.
  • Deal with safeguarding incidents and reports in a timely professional manner.
  • Ensure correct CPD is in place for staff members.
  • Hold fortnightly meetings with IQA to keep track of student’s vocational progress.
  • Plan and deliver staff meetings every quarter.
  • Manage the tutors and coaches in your region and deal with sickness and absences.
Requirements

  • Operations experience.
  • Experience working with stakeholders including students, teachers and employers.
  • Strong organisation skills.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be confident interacting with anyone, no matter their background or level of influence (essential).
  • Bring experience of designing and implementing administrative systems (desirable).
  • Ability to manage workload and ensure compliance of records (essential).
  • Good written & verbal communication skills (essential).
  • Excellent customer service skills (essential).
  • Highly motivated, challenging situations with tenacity and enthusiasm (essential).
  • Strong problem solving and ability to work under own initiative (essential).
  • Be willing to work flexibly (essential).
  • Be passionate about working with and empowering young people (desirable).
Benefits

£26,000 - £28,000 per annum.

✈ 25 days including bank holidays, with 3 days ‘free’ days given back during December.
