Whisky Maturation Operator - A Day in the Life
As a Whisky Maturation Operator within our dedicated teams at Broxburn, you’ll play a pivotal role in the whisky supply process and will oversee and control the safe movement of spirit within an established set of process procedures.
You’ll support a range of operator activities on either site. At Broxburn, our whisky maturation operators are responsible for safely storing casks (barrels) of new make spirit and preparing casks of mature whisky for blending.
The role holder is required to manually handle the casks and training will be provided to any successful applicants. You will work towards using a Forklift truck and move casks using machines that run on rails within the Warehouse. Compliance and Safety are key for the site, therefore you will adhere to all H&S legislation, leading by example to maintain our excellent safety record. In addition to this role, all paperwork must be completed accurately for HMRC.
There will also be an opportunity to work within pallet operations - moving and storing casks on pallet, banding the casks effectively and smart warehousing of stock.
Skills and proficiency are things that matter to Diageo, and so we’d love to hear from candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and experience who are excited about transferring those skills and experience into a Whisky maturation environment.
Your rota on our core shift pattern consists of Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am to 2:00pm.
We’re looking for someone who can work well within a team as well as the ability to make effective decisions and thrive in situations where they can solve problems!
You’ll make this role your own. We want you to push forward your own ideas about improvements to current approaches and appraise new opportunities. The role presents a great opportunity to make a positive difference to manufacturing excellence and to showcase your excellent technical and communication skills.
