Job Description

Position: Packing Operative

The purpose of the position:

To work as part of a team operating the packing area, performing allotted tasks to meet targets and standards. Specialising in the Packaging of sport and X series lights.

Responsibilities:

able to work from diagrams and work instructions to complete agreed tasks

– packing, in accordance with specifications of work instructions

– operate equipment safely and in accordance with all instruction and guidelines, including health and safety

– wear any Personal Protective Equipment supplied as instructed

– follow works orders to given time scales and deadlines.

– generally, monitor the work quality and work practices being undertaken and completed with testing and checking to identify problems at their own stage of production.

– immediately notify Line Manager when packing issues occur that cannot be resolved by you

– input data into computer system to record products and works orders completion, delivery notices and other customer paperwork.

– Contribute to continuous improvement ideas

– maintain accurate process data/records/documentation associated with your work

– carry out tasks within time limits given

– Meet the set output requirements per hour or day, under instruction from the production manager and the planning manager.

– ensure compliance to quality standards, policies and procedures, codes and legislation including health and safety

– contribute towards the smooth running of the team

– adhere to all organisation policies and procedures

– Adhere to 5S processes as described and implemented

– requisite knowledge of the machinery, tools, equipment, and materials common to the role

– to demonstrate knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations for this role

– to be friendly and approachable

– to understand and deliver good customer service

– good attention to detail

– to demonstrate time management and task management skills.

You are responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with your Line Manager. You must contribute towards the smooth running of the organisation generally.

You must carry out your duties to the best of your ability, having consideration for the needs of your colleagues, the Organisation and its clients/customers. You must obey all lawful and reasonable orders given to you and comply with the Organisation’s rules, procedures and policies

You are responsible for the equipment provided to you for use in your job role. This means you should carry out checks and cleaning as required and agreed.

You must also ensure that equipment is used in accordance with training provided, all the organisation’s policies and procedures and the law and using, where applicable, any safety equipment or Personal Protective Equipment provided. You are responsible for ensuring that the equipment you use is maintained and can be always used/operated.

Targets and deadlines:

We will communicate these targets on a regular basis, to ensure you are fully aware of the expectations of production. If you have any issues or training needs, then we would need to be aware of this immediately.

We will also hold a regular 1-1 review meeting with you to support you and your development.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From £22,100.00 per year

Face masks on site are required for all personnel whilst walking around the building and when in close proximity to other team members.
