What's the role about?

As part of the Retail People & Culture team, the People Development Manager is accountable for creating and ensuring the delivery of our people development strategy by partnering with senior stakeholders to understand the needs of our global retail teams, and for delivering this through the team. They provide thought leadership on best-in-market retail development programmes, and best ways to grow market-leading retail employees, and internal talent pipelines.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide Reiss Retail employees clarity, direction & structure around career progression, driving the performance review cycle and creating a culture of “always on” development conversations
  • Work with the Talent team to develop an internal talent pipeline for all retail management roles, optimizing our ratio of internal to external management appointments
  • Think global first in all design and delivery, balancing needs for consistent vs local design, and ensuring we consider all markets and store formats
  • Evaluate and report on the impact of learning initiatives, ensuring approaches are built for maximum “stickiness”
  • Ensure that Reiss retail induction programs deliver high levels of competency for all new starters
  • Deliver the engagement survey and support the subsequent action planning
  • Advocate and design for inclusion in all aspects of development and career progression, making learning accessible for all employees
  • Deliver retail leadership learning solutions to grow leadership impact
  • Coach retail leaders on operational skills and management effectiveness
  • Review the impact our training has against business objectives and adapt when required
  • Build key relationships with external providers to deliver a balanced curation of learning solution that optimises team resources

Who you are

  • Proven track record of delivering best in market learning solutions in high volume environment, preferably retail or hospitality
  • Proven ability to build and maintain great relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Work and think at pace, anticipate challenges and persist to move projects forward
  • Highly engaging approach, able to connect easily with new people
  • Ability to flex approach and style to the audience
  • Commercially-informed approach
