Process Research Technician

We are currently recruiting for a Process Research Technician to join our microorganism and biostimulant team based in Malvern. This is a permanent full-time contract working between 08:00am - 5:00pm covering 37.5 hours a week.

Job Role:

  • Reporting to the Fermentation Manager, you will work on agreed R&D projects and execution of experiments.
  • Write and present internal reports based on the execution of experiments and the results generated.
  • Work with the production team to produce starter cultures, maintain stock levels and assist with the process scale-up.
  • Conduct routine microbiology analysis of samples from both trials and production.
  • Accountable for the release of the sample results accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Interacting with stakeholders and assisting with queries from the customers and other interested parties.
  • Assisting in the creation and review of SOPs across laboratory processes.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical and research equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment within the laboratory using aseptic techniques.
  • Monitoring and ordering of laboratory reagents and consumables.

The Person:

  • Chemistry, Biotechnology or related scientific degree or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in a microbiology laboratory environment.
  • Must have initiative and be self-motivated.
  • High standard of English and maths and good MS Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Laboratory experience in an industrial environment would be an advantage.
  • Experience of the fermentation industry would be an advantage.
