As a Barclays Project Manager, you will oversee delivery of key projects, ensuring they achieve their outcomes to plan business case and project governance setup. Thereafter you will be monitoring and managing financials, RAID’s and resource requirements. You will also do day to day partnering the Accountable Executive and stakeholders and create an environment of effective delivery and have a broad range of business and technical skills to ensure regulatory compliance to our regulatory projects.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. What will you be doing?

  • Planning business readiness and financial management of a project /Programme
  • Governing and reporting from Senior Programme forums to working Groups
  • Ensuring outcomes delivered to scope and benefits management throughout lifecycle
  • Completing requirements management and solutions development, weather tech or other (e.g., Operations)
  • Reviewing and assuring where required alongside risk and issue management
  • Managing overall stakeholder and communications
  • Supporting the project where needed, including knowledge of the lifecycle of one or more asset classes in Investment Banking

What we’re looking for

  • Proven project management experience (medium to large scale initiatives) working on change management initiatives at a top tier consulting firm
  • Understanding of the front to back trade lifecycle within an Investment Bank and working knowledge of the main features of core IB products
  • The ability to understand, interpret and adapt project or Programme approach to suit the business context and subject matter of a change initiative
  • Ability to effectively communicate, influence and manage stakeholders at all levels, taking account of their levels of influence and interest
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Ability to establish and operate a governance model that defines clear roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities
  • Ability to identify, define, evaluate, plan, track and realize the outcomes and benefits of change initiatives
  • Ability to describe the steps needed to ensure any change delivered by an initiative is implemented successfully and effectively by the impacted business or service area
  • Ability to effectively monitor and continuously improve both the processes and the outcomes of change initiatives
