We are looking for an enthusiastic Receptionist to join our diverse and friendly team.
International Students House is a vibrant student centre offering accommodation, social and support services for resident and non-resident British and overseas students. In addition, International Students House encompasses the ISH Venues, the ‘229’ music venue and the Thirsty Scholar Bar.
The day to day activities of the Receptionist are varied and will include:
· Providing our diverse customer pool (residents, conference clients, band promoters, bars and venues customers, staff, etc.) a friendly welcome and efficient customer service and manage the Receptionist email inbox;
· Carrying out reception duties including check-ins and check-outs, billing, reports, hire out equipment, manage post and parcels and process any payments;
· Answering residents’ queries regarding: bills, departure date, vacation periods, room moves, etc.;
· Being responsible for a cash float, ensuring all financial procedures are adhered to.

· An articulate communicator with strong administration skills;
· A reliable individual of an unflappable nature who can work independently and as part of a team;
· A professional and proactive approach to work and willingness to take on any additional responsibilities, as required.
Experience and qualifications:
· Previous experience in hospitality, particularly useful in student or hotel accommodation;
· Experience or understanding of higher education sector – desirable.
Hours of Work:
The shift pattern is working 5 days per week with 2 days off. The days off are not always 2 consecutive days. It will be necessary to work some Bank Holidays, for which either overtime or an alternate day off is given.
