This is an exciting opportunity for a talented communicator to join a small, friendly rewilding charity. You will be managed by, and report to, Heal’s Operations Director, working collaboratively to design and deliver Heal’s active digital communications programme.

Our experienced team will provide one-to-one training in communications and marketing. On a day-to-day basis, you will undertake tasks such as copywriting, social media scheduling and monitoring, graphic design (images/videos) and website design.

You will play a critical role in the design of Heal’s digital resources and campaigns, with regular opportunities to feed your observations and ideas directly to Heal’s senior management team. We will encourage the post-holder to be creative and experiment with new techniques and platforms (e.g. TikTok).

Crucially, we will provide opportunities for you to experience nature, including quarterly visits to our foundation rewilding site. We will offer a range of activities (e.g. surveys, photography) that will enhance your ecological knowledge. Plus, this time spent outdoors will improve your mental and physical wellbeing.

At the end of the placement, the post-holder will have a solid grounding in a range of transferable skills, new contacts and a working understanding of the conservation sector

ABOUT HEAL

Heal's purpose is to take direct, practical action to address the biodiversity crisis in England. We are raising money from the general public, businesses and other sources of support to buy land at mid-scale (400-600 acres/160-240 hectares) and rewild it. Our goal is to open a new site in every English county (48 sites) with visitor facilities for visitors and free access with an (optional donation). By rewilding land, we will restore natural processes will be restored, resulting in a create a mosaic of habitats and increase the diversity and abundance of species. Our chief habitat restoration ‘managers’ will be free-ranging animals, namely cattle, ponies, pigs, deer and, where possible, beavers.

New to Nature is an exciting programme of paid work placements in nature-focused roles. This is one of 70 roles that will be created across the UK to encourage young and diverse talent into the Natural Environment sector.

We’re particularly interested in receiving applications from young people (aged 18-25) who are from ethnically diverse backgrounds, who are living with a disability or are from low-income households.
