Job title: Air – Safety Engineer

Salary: £45,326 - £49,834 - dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

• Delivering Safety Engineering activities across the F-35 Platform Development, Upgrade & Sustainment programmes
• Development and maintenance of new and existing safety documentation (Hazard Assessment Summary Reports, Safety Engineering Memos, Safety Justification Reports, Change Request statements)
• Carry out safety assessment of new and emerging safety issues within BAES areas of design responsibility
• Provide safety advice and guidance to the Engineering teams
• Management of hazards in the F-35 Hazard Log

Your skills and experiences:

• Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/ Maths/ Science)
• Demonstrable knowledge of the system / software and safety engineering lifecycle.
• Understanding of relevant engineering standards.
• Ideally (but not essential) a knowledge of the F-35 Global Support System
• Have or working towards a professional registration
