ACS International Schools are recruiting for a Security Manager to join the team at ACS Egham. The main function of the role is the management of the in-house security guarding service on a day-to-day basis to ensure ACS International Schools campus are a safe and secure environment for its students, staff, parents and visitors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the campus in-house security guarding service.
  • Oversee and resolve any operational issues as and when they arise.
  • Responsible for the management of safety and security measures on campus in line with the Standard Operating Procedures and ACS Visions and Values.
  • Maintain appropriate administration systems, including filing and records management.
  • Ensuring an effective staff-planning schedule is produced and in place on a daily basis which caters for any operational needs and emergency staffing issues.
  • Assist the Head of Security in co-ordinating and managing responses to incidents.
  • Ensure efficient handling of communications with Head of School including requests for information from staff, parents, police and external bodies including strict adherence to ACS Communications policy.
  • Ensuring a professional and courteous manner at all times meeting business needs whilst maintaining a positive focus.
  • Maintain reliable and flexible approaches to work also ensuring solutions are actively sought in order to minimise any potential disruptions, issues or damage to school reputation.
  • To conduct all responsibilities in strict adherence with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, standards, protocols, procedures and guidelines. Know and understand your responsibilities under the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations 2018 and Information Commission Officers Legislation.
  • Play a key role in the management of emergencies within the campus and be available out of hours if required.
  • Assist in the continued development of training and instruction for the Security Officers.
  • Conduct regular one to one meetings with the Security Officers and bi yearly Performancre Appraisals.
  • Working with your Line Manager ensure the Revenue and Capex expenditure come within the agreed Budget.
  • To undertake other tasks that may reasonably be required as assigned or directed by the Head of Security or senior faculty members.
  • Deputise for the Head of Security as and when required.

Essential Skills / Experience:

  • Experienced in leadership and managerial skills and a proven ability to motivate, develop and harness the skills of others.
  • Experience in dealing and working with diverse teams.
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively with diverse individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Excellent time management skills, being flexible in approach to the role, working well under pressure and able to plan and prioritise your workload.
  • Ability to project a professional image at all times and to communicate effectively with all students, staff, parents and external bodies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Hold a current Security Industry Authority Certification at either Level 2 Door Supervisor or Security Guard and a current First Aid at Work Certificate.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently, as appropriate.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, MS and MAC office programmes.
  • Experience in a disciplined career such, as the Police Service or the Armed Forces are desirable although a proven career in the Security Industry would be equally valid.

This is a full time, permanent role working Monday to Friday. The salary range is £35,000 - £38,700 per annum.
