The Trust’s security team work to achieve the safety of all staff, patients and visitors and to prevent and deter any criminal activity.
The role requires significant general security management experience together with experience of working in a pressured healthcare environment or similar. The successful candidate will have operational management experience in addition to knowledge of process improvement with a high level of attention to detail. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills who has the ability to work well as part of a large Security team. The post will be of interest to those who wish to pursue a career in hospital management and would like to gain more experience in a busy service with a wide variety of challenges. You will be an enthusiastic, motivated and empathetic individual who thrives on working as part of a team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing specialist security advice, guidance and support to staff at all levels of the organisation NHS Trust. The Security Department is currently based across three sites Charing Cross Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital with the Western Eye Hospital located as part of the St Mary’s site, therefore you will be required to work across all 3 main sites leading, motivating and managing a team of staff
To ensure during a Major incident, Internal incident, High security risk incident that the security service provide the highest possible quality of service and are compliant with the Trust Security Policy and Procedure and Trust Lock down plan and procedures.
To ensure the Trust is compliant with the relevant aspects of, Risk Management and other national quality indicators/targets.
To set and monitor the service standards ensuring that they reflect current legislation, government, NHS and Trust policies and guidelines necessary to ensure compliance. To manage the services as key components of the Trust strategy and to ensure that an inclusive approach to security management work is undertaken, involving both internal and external NHS and non NHS stakeholders where appropriate and necessary.
To manage and develop the security infrastructure in terms of CCTV, access control, intruder & panic alarm systems.
Provide a timely and efficient response to concerns raised regarding the quality of the security service provided.
Prepare reports, on security and crime related issues for submission to the Head of Security, Director of Estates & Facilities and the Trust Board.
