Overview / Responsibilities:

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. The role will be part of our Aberdeen Engineer Hub. This is a multi-client and multi-discipline engineering and design team. This vacancy is primarily to support an upcoming FEED study on a Flare Gas Recovery project for a major oil & gas operator in the North Sea. The role is an excellent opportunity to be involved in decarbonisation projects. The FEED study is expected to start in April 2023 and run for 6 months before moving into detail design. The project will be run out of our Aberdeen office however remote/hybrid working will be considered.


  • Provide Process Engineering Expertise
  • Provide input to development process studies
  • Define process requirements for technical scopes related to various Hub scopes
  • Originating and checking of process engineering design deliverables including but not limited to; P&IDs, calculation, datasheets, line lists to enable development of deliverables used in the project, offshore workpacks and in the supply chain
  • Provide support to HAZOPs/HAZID’s and other technical reviews as required
  • Provide support to the Lead Process Engineer, Engineering manager, Project manager and the delivery team
  • Provide technical expertise to the contract
  • Resolve process related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards
  • Adhere to procedures to assure technical integrity of process designs
  • Provide support for interdiscipline considerations through attendance at required design reviews and undertaking inter discipline checking
  • Maintain own knowledge and understanding to meet competence requirememts of Principal Process Engineer
  • Provide feedback on lessons learnt to aide in continuous improvement
  • Utilise software tools in design development and checking as required (eg Hisys)
Skills / Qualifications:

MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification or BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.

Chartered Engineer or recognised equivalent.
