Job Introduction

The role will support the Senior Digital Programming Executive and Head of Digital Programming in delivering and overseeing social media and digital video output for the Top Gear brand (including but not limited to YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, Web and CRM). The role will implement the demands of the brand’s publishing calendar and content slate, and will support commercial, marketing, paid and organic activities for the brand. Successful candidates will also feed into content creation, delivering ideas and briefing editors, internal teams and/or third parties.

Main Responsibilities
  • Creation of digital content for Top Gear’s network of branded channels, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat & TikTok, plus oversight of web & newsletter output
  • Supervise digital video content creation ensuring assets align with brand priorities and tone.
  • Ensure all activity complies with BBC Studios guidelines and escalation and issue management procedures are adhered to.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across marketing, creative, production and press to achieve brand marketing objectives in line with strategy
  • Support the development and implementation of brand and commercial strategies, including video monetisation and digital marketing strategies.
  • Provide research and analysis to inform strategy and creative
  • Ownership for allocated projects, ensuring digital output is aligned to strategy, objectives and KPIs.
  • Lead on platform best practice and feedback to relevant stakeholders.
  • Work closely with brand and production teams on the delivery and execution of campaigns, contributing to creative ideation
  • Oversee community management on social in line with brand tone of voice.
  • Support the team across wider digital output including web, newsletters and podcasts.
  • Ensure continuous awareness of the digital landscape, delivering ideas for commercial and non-commercial activities as new opportunities arise.
  • Analyse digital performance data and derive insights to optimise future asset creation, working closely with the Insights team. Be accountable for performance improvements, optimisation and best practice.
  • Oversee publishing calendar and content slate, working closely with commercial team on new deals and implementation of commercial plans, including platform partnerships and advertising deals.
  • Line management responsibility for Digital Co-ordinators and editors, including managing work, mentoring and development and ensuring quality of output.
Are you the right candidate?
  • proven background in content creation and creativity within a digital space
  • A passion for the automotive industry – and knowledge of the automotive landscape will be advantageous
  • Strong experience in Social Media channels, especially YouTube channel management
  • Knowledge of the current digital landscape and knowledge of trends/future trends
  • Experience of building and engaging online audiences
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and managing key stakeholder relationships
  • Organised whilst multitasking and ability to manage multiple workstreams/projects
  • An ability to deliver at pace and anticipate deadlines
  • Experience of data analytics tools and campaign measurement
  • Experience of content creation tools (Photoshop/Premiere Pro etc)
  • Basic video editing skills and strong copywriting skills
  • Experience managing sizeable digital channels (Social, Web, CRM)

Desirable

  • Line management experience
  • Experience within an automotive publisher, brand, manufacturer or motorsport series.
