This is a key role within ESMCP to lead the development of the technical architecture for Enabling Technologies that support the programme to ensure it has the right tools at the right time to facilitate programme delivery as it scales. This is a central control for programme-wide tooling, data and analytics to drive consistency and de-duplication in the tools being adopted. The Enabling Technologies team delivers analytics and reporting capabilities for the programme, including assurance, monitoring Deployment, and PMO.

As a Solution Architect your main responsibilities would be:

  • Provide technology oversight, thought-leadership, strategy and guidance for enabling technologies and the Data and Analytics Platform and as required by the programme.
  • Understand the As-Is Home Office Landscape, what capabilities can be leveraged from across the business to accelerate the implementation of the tools/technologies.
  • Provide architectural guidance to ongoing delivery of tools/ technologies and the Data Platform.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide expert advice to support their decisions
  • Analyse technical requirements for the programme, identify and propose cost-effective solutions
  • Investigate tooling options available to meet a critical need and making a recommendation aligned to the ESMCP’s Enterprise Architecture principles.
  • Provide support in the assurance process of new technologies.
  • Ensure adopted technologies adhere to Home Office Digital, Data and Technology standards.
  • Plan and estimate the delivery of new technologies for the programme.

Essential Skills:

  • Recent experience in technical architecture and service design.
  • Expertise in M365, Azure, Identity Management, Security, Power Platform, Power BI, PowerShell, SharePoint Online.
  • Analytical and presentational skills to articulate the position and forecast of the portfolio highlighting risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain complex subjects in simple terms.
  • Highly developed organisational awareness, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, persuade and communicate with people at all levels within the organisation and regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to constructively challenge to drive the right outcomes.
  • SC Cleared.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of tech assurance reviews within a programme or project environment.
