Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently recruiting a System s Project Manager on behalf of a leading Telecommunications company.
Working in the Event Management team, you’ll be responsible for the project budget, forecast and reporting is timely and accurate for all projects owned. Working closely with the Programme Manager to ensure the project is delivered within budget. Specifically, you’ll work on projects relating to fault management in a Operational Support Service (OSS) team. You’ll report to Networks Portfolio/Programme Manager and working with Functional Manager(s) for the successful end to end delivery of assigned projects.
You’ll will work under broad direction and be accountable for project delivery of agreed scope to time, cost and quality. It is key that you effectively control and govern projects through industry best practice including effective management of the risks, issues and dependencies that influence successful delivery. It’s also critical you are able to build relationships with key stakeholders, plan and execute effective communications plans.
Key responsibilities
Manage end to end the delivery of project(s). Taking responsibility for the overall success of the project and advising key stakeholders and project board of any deviations that impact the plan. Delivered using waterfall and agile approaches.
Prepare baseline management products, in conjunction with any Project Assurance roles, and agree them with the Project Board- Project Brief, Project Initiation Document, Work packages, etc.
Liaise with Corporate or Programme Management to ensure work is neither overlooked or duplicated by related projects, managing key dependencies
Lead, motivate and support the project management team. As well as ensuring behavioural expectations of the team are established and maintained.
Maintaining a high level of governance throughout, ensuring the following are kept up to date – RAID Logs, project systems, weekly project reporting, financial tracking, dependencies and plans
Prepares project reports and chairs regular meetings with key internal stakeholders. Highlights key progress, issues and risks for attention and resolution.
Manage the information flows between the directing and delivering levels of the project.
Identifies improvements to the Project Management practices, contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within the area.
Essential skills, knowledge, or experience
Experience running complex projects in a large organisation where time to market and cost are critical success factors.
Effective leadership and communications skills, projecting competence and credibility.
Experience of working in an environment of change involving new systems, new processes and culture change
People management skills (leadership, empathy, listening, relationship building, confidence, responsiveness)
Organisational skills (planning, problem solving, listening, decision making, negotiation)
Driven and focussed, insists on high level of performance and does not become resigned to the inevitability of delays
Demonstrable examples of being tenacious and proactive to deliver a high level of performance across projects
Proven track record of delivery and achieving results through people in a matrix delivery team.
Self-motivated with an ability to work well under pressure and to tight timescales
Degree level related qualification or equivalent industry experience & Professional accreditation desirable - PRINCEII, MSP, MOP, AMP, ScrumMaster, Agile Delivery
Desirable: Telecoms Core Network knowledge and experience would be a key advantage
