The role

We are looking for a highly talented, dynamic and driven Talent Acquisition Manager to join our People and Culture team. This is a new dedicated role to the business as we continue to expand. We have doubled in size over the last 2 years and are continuing to grow our team further over the next 12 months. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a huge impact to the future growth of our business.

You will be responsible for the full end to end recruitment cycle from candidate attraction to offer management. You will have the ability to confidently liaise with candidates at all levels from entry level to Senior executives.


As a business passionate about its routes in Sheffield, we want to engage with the next generation of likeminded people to work with us. You will take ownership for starting a program of work making connections with local colleges, universities, and apprenticeship providers to create awareness and opportunity for students to work at UniHomes. You will also attend job fairs to increase our exposure in the region.


You will report into the Head of People and Culture supporting in employee engagement and culture ensuring recruitment excellence is guaranteed through our growth.


Our ideal candidate has 5-10 years’ experience in recruitment agency and / or inhouse recruitment. You will be confident, tenacious, a self-starter, proactive, idea driven, motivated and have a keen eye for the right candidate.


This will be predominantly office based to start with to foster effective relationship building with staff and knowledge of our departments and how they work enabling you to give a true picture of our business to our applicants. Hybrid working will be available thereafter.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaboratively work with the Head of People and Culture on the people roadmap
  • Manage the company's recruitment initiatives using a proactive approach enabling company growth
  • Take a consultative approach with hiring managers and fully understand their hiring needs
  • Advise on resourcing policy, processes and approaches to support the business in making sound hiring decisions
  • coaching, guiding and challenging the hiring panel’s capability on interviewing and recruiting methodologies
  • Partner with HR team and hiring managers to develop hiring plans and agree the best approach to meet needs. Advise on the use of assessment methodologies to ensure predictability of job performance
  • Liaising with hiring leads and candidates
  • Research, prepare and tailor role information, job packs, selection criteria and advertising copy to the requirements
  • Partner with the Marketing team on the recruitment strategies and use of the relevant platforms to identify and attract potential new employees ensuring all candidate attraction media and marketing collateral is relevant, accurate, consistent and engaging
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process from candidate attraction through to offer management including headhunting candidates via LinkedIn and other mediums, screening CVs, booking in interviews, interviewing candidates, manage and provide feedback to candidates including offers and rejections
  • Communicating with candidates and sending our offer letters.
  • Continual improvement of the recruitment process
  • Building and managing contracts and relationships with recruitment agencies
  • Attending careers fairs and graduate events to convey the UniHomes brand and to develop a continuous flow of future hires
  • Build a talent pipeline and sources using a multi-channel approach
  • Reporting on key recruitment stats including looking at improving time to hire, reducing cost to hire and delivering commercially relevant service to the business
  • Managing all recruitment through our ATS
  • Running onboarding activities for new staff

Skills and experience:


  • A minimum A-level qualification
  • 5-10 years’ recent experience in recruitment (agency and/or internal recruitment)
  • Experience of working in an SME or fast paced business showing an understanding of a continuously evolving and agile business model
  • Excellent organisation skills who is proactive and forward thinking
  • Outstanding organisational and prioritising skills with fastidious attention to detail
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Tactful and fair
  • Dedicated to employee engagement, brand values and culture
  • Genuine pride for delivering exceptional experiences for both candidates and hiring managers
  • Authentic and genuine personality with a positive 'can do' attitude
  • Confident, engaging, charismatic and articulate
  • Previous experience of working with Colleges and Universities to attain talent and career fair experience is desirable but not essential
  • Live locally to Sheffield

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
